I absolutely love this book. Hai, the protagonist, is a mess—and not. You can’t help but love him. And Grazina, and their incredible journey. In many ways their histories are not so different.

This might be the most emotionally difficult book that I've ever read. It should come with a warning label. And Ari Shapiro (who I love) read it in one LONG sitting on a transcontinental flight? (As he said, he doesn't advise it..)
