Really exceptional - illuminating and enjoyable, full of fresh ways to look at our history and current society.

Absolutely marvellous. Clarifies many things about current human society by unrolling our early history in very readable fashion.

Really excellent, I always enjoy reading Stroustrup, and was thrilled to find that he does have recent print publications out - for a long time I had the impression that he'd switched to maintaining online resources only. I expect I'll re-read this pretty soon.

Exceptionally well written. There's an awful lot to absorb, but it's unwrapped in quite a manageable way, and exposes the logic behind the language features in a way that gives decent chance of recalling later after only a simple read-through, at least to the point of being able to accurately Google details on-the job.
