Wow. The first battles with the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants are in issues 4 & 5, and Xavier fakes an injury after the first fight so that he can use the second fight as a "final exam" for his students. Kitty Pryde was right. Xavier is a jerk. LOL
I do love that my reading these old issues is just reinforcing my dislike of Xavier. I thought he was bad when I read comics in the 90s!

About to start issue 4. So far, this has been fun! Xavier is an evil drill sergeant when it comes to his students. I can definitely see where several of them grew up to hate him. Also, we're 3 issues (and 3 villains) in, and Xavier has mindwiped 2 villains (and an entire circus) so far. He's a little too quick to the punch there.

Starting my great X-Men read! I want to read all of the X-Men comics in order from beginning to end. I'm excited!

This book and the movie adaptation are spot on to each other. Book has more background details for the characters but, so far, it's as close to a 1-to-1 adaptation you can ask for.

DNFing. Book is all over the place and just not following it.

This book makes this series required reading for all fantasy lovers. It is amazing.

Less than 80 pages in and I love this book so much. Carl is just going all out in his war and I'm on board 100%. Big booms incoming.

I think with this, Nat Cassidy is now an auto buy. So good.

Interesting but I kinda wished some of the mystery of the Wards was left till later to discover. I feel like I'm halfway through and I already know everything.

Enjoying it but it is moving very fast. Surprised at how far I've gotten in a day.

This is not starting off well. Lots of corporate stuff and Wade losing his way again. Definitely an absolute power corrupts situation...

I'm enjoying this but definitely a slow building story. I really enjoy how much Gabriel hates Bouchette and his singing! LOL Stops him at every turn.

This is a really good, slow-burning book. I love the building of it all and whatever it is building to. Definitely recommend the audiobook for it, especially for the King Sorrow pieces.

Going to take a break on this. I have books 10 - 14 left. Some are good but a lot are the same.

My favorite author writing something similar to my favorite sci-fi/horror movie using one of my favorite monsters? Yes please. This is Event Horizon meets Cthulhu.

A little over halfway through the World of Oz. Solid set of kids books and some are still enjoyable as an adult.

This is so much better than Wool and Shift. I feel like it proves my thought that Wool and Shift should be re-ordered into 1 book to make it flow better.

This is almost the opposite of Wool. It starts off great with the whole backstory of what happened and then just kinda meanders out into meh territory...

I'm really enjoying this addition to the Joe Ledger series. I've got a very real sense of dread that I haven't felt in the last 3 or 4 books. I think this will have big changes for the series to come.

In my safe space. Joe, Bunny, Top, and Ghost are fighting the bad guys and the chaotic machinations of Nicodemus. All while we figure out who Mr Church is. It's going to be a good week. 😁

DNF, just not for me

Finished part 1. Don't know if this is all real or an "unreliable narrator" situation. Regardless, it's still a really solid coming-of-age tale.

That might be the best opening to any book I've read. Beautiful

Chapter 16 and the introduction of that family with the unfortunate name. 🤣🤣🤣
