really good!

so far it was ok that this is book 14 in a series, but now it's starting to get a little messy with references to the past. Oh well.

A nice diversity of styles so far.

started on this yesterday and am already halfway through, - it's really good!

to be honest, the sheer size of the book is intimidating. We'll see.

Enjoying this more than I thought I would. So interesting to see him through his letters to editors etc. Though I'm quite sure I would have really disliked Bukowski as a person had I met him.

Once you get past the silliness of the opening chapters, it gets better. The second half was enjoyable.

Hmmm... the book tries so hard to be funny, it ends up being silly instead. But I'm going to keep going. It's not in the same league The Big Over Easy, for instance, which manages to be actually funny AND a good who-dunnit at the same time.
