lol okay now i feel bad for my first judgement. sorry to the narrator. but still: i don’t care about rich people problems, and this story can‘t make me manipulate into caring

this book‘s teaching me what i already know: i really, really don‘t care about rich people. i also couldn‘t care less how pretty, thin, and smarter-than-thou the narrator is. (however, i‘m dedicated to finish this book, if just for the sake of it.)

That night I was in a windowless basement restaurant, on a date with a girl who was not my girlfriend. The girl ordered the Soup du Jour. She tried it. Then she spat it out. She called the waiter over. "I don't know what trick you're trying to pull," she said, "but I've had Soup du Jour before, and this ain't it."
