Really bummed about this so far. Loved Year of the Monkey and this is just poorly written. It feels like Patti Smith never learned anything about show don’t tell or narrative structure. I’m confused because her poetry and lyricism is incredible but I kid you not every other sentence is passive and she is just listing pointless details and names.. idk I’m annoyed lol
