I honestly can’t stand Gracie. She’s a spineless doormat that lets her entire family emotionally abuse and gaslight her and they treat her like she is an indentured servant. And 40% of the way into the book, she just keeps taking the abuse and not standing up for herself and every page is just more abuse and gaslighting. If you want a strong FMC, she is not it. She is about as mature as a 12 yo.

The FMC is annoying so far. Every single page is her inner monologue about how she has always been alone and never could trust anyone, but can she really trust these guys who claim to be her mate. Sometimes it is so repetitive that it’s every other paragraph that she is doubting or questioning her feelings and these men, as if you had a second to forget that she has always been alone.

This is the slowest burn ever and to be honest, Sera is annoying and dim witted. No matter how much she learns that what she was taught growing up was not the whole truth, she still is determined to kill Ash.

She’s immature with a bad temper. If she would just talk to Ash about the rot and curse - this book could be half the length.

When they finally have s3x, it better be with it.

There’s been only 1 smut scene and it was just fingering. I like Richard and Cameron but really dislike the FMC Mia. She’s an uptight virginal prude who judges anyone who likes sex, much less into kink. She’s so dislikeable - assuming clothes make someone a slut, stereotyping people, snide comments about kinks. I keep waiting for this to get better.

It’s good so far the only thing I am struggling with is some of the descriptions of Colombia. I’ve been to Colombia and even visited San Basilio de Palenque, the first free african slave settlement. The idea of Colombia being overrun by cartels is old propaganda that doesn’t reflect the country now.

I really dislike Luna. She is so determined to make her existence as miserable as possible; it is really freaking annoying.

She offers herself to serve the Horde king if he spares her brother for breaking a sacred law. He’s being nice to her and she is dead set on trying to be as difficult as possible when she’s the one who volunteered herself. He didn’t make her do this yet she is hateful towards him.

This is really dark. The story is moving along but damn, he’s basically kidnapped her and is drugging and raping her (yes he gives her orgasms but there is no consent) so she can have his baby and then he plans on his child following family tradition and shooting her in the forehead when the child turns 12.

Check triggers before you read: violence, tons of rape/non-consensual, breeding/pregnancy kink, sadism

Very good so far - better than I was expecting!

It was okay. I feel this syoryline gets worse and worse with each book.
