i forgot how funny this book is omg when will magnus chase get the attention he deserves instead of percy

the first short story, 1:35AM, really explores how sleep deprivation and the constant fear of being stalked can truly break you. a pretty good read

soooo interesting already

somehow i had forgotten how joyous reading can be. the story sucked me right in and i would finish it today if i didn't have work tomorrow. i can't wait for the end (the kiss (hopefully) will be so worth it after all this tomfoolery)

meet arek, the disastrously bisexual idiot, and his rag-tag team of friends who equally have no idea what they're doing, yet are somehow still smarter than him by a long shot. i currently don't know whether i wanna beat him over the head with a shovel or whether i *am* him.

what the hell is van helsing yapping about

it's interesting how pessimistic malcolm is surrounding science. it makes sense, given that scientists brought dinos back to life without much thought of the consequences, but the blame lies with the scientists, not science itself. science isn't inherently evil, it's the hubris of man.

i wasn't a big fan of the first short story, fetch. it tried too much to appeal to young people but it just felt corny and the ending was yet another cliff hanger.

now the second story was great! genuinely well written and interesting and the ending had me screaming at the book but in a good way! i feel really bad for the main character

don't wake the dreamer

pros: they made alan wake even more pathetic
cons: the fighting sequences are still tedious

john honey i'm so sorry charlie made you look like a whiny loser in the second book, you're cool as hell

absolutely obsessed so far it's SO good

the people who adapted this to film were like "yknow uh.. all this weird shit? scratch that fr don't even think about it" and i thank them every day!
