Taking a break from Throne of Glass because new Emily St. John Mandel trumps everything.

The Valg seem awfully similar to the Daglan/Asteri. I know that's at least partially going to pay off later, but I also think maybe SJM only has one plot.

I'm losing track of who knows which secrets.

The Ironteeth witches are awesome.

Letting your dog run around the library and destroy documents is not cute, Celaena.

This book is a hell of a lot better than the first one! I hate the latest plot development but it's because I liked that character, not because it's badly written.

I am skeptical about this talking door knocker but at least someone is finally telling Celaena she's a pain in the ass and not in a cute way.

Okay I try never to call anybody a stupid bitch but this candy situation is making me rethink that policy.

For a world-renowned assassin, it sure is easy to sneak up on this chick.

"Courage of the heart is very rare" okay Nicodemus

This is making me want to go to Brittany.

This started off good but is growing tiresome.

The Life and Letters of Silenus!!! There are so many bits of other stories woven in here, in delightful ways.

"What am I? What am I? Figment, fakement, fragment, furious fancy-free form."

I just swooned.

Not a single reliable narrator in this whole entire story, I love it.

I looked at this book one day, said "nah," and re-read all 4 Wayfarers instead. Back at it now and Joan is not getting any less dull.

Boy do I hope this gets more interesting soon because these 40 pages have been a slog.

Ooohhhh this is gonna hurt.

The 10th Hunger Games are TEDIOUS.

Man alive, I hope this gets more interesting very soon. Far too much tedious detail!

AGGH this is so dumb

You might ask why I'm reading the sequel when I thought the first book was only okay. I don't have a good answer for that.

This series has tipped over from "improbable" to "makes no sense whatsoever" but it's still a ripping good story.

YEEESSSS FINALLY

Bryce is a selfish hypocrite.

BRYCE YOU ASSHOLE

It got good! Whew.

Hunt is clearly supposed to be smokin' hot but he's got nothing on the Illyrians. I want my bat boys.

I only sort of care what happens next, which is unfortunate when I'm this far in. Really hoping it gets interesting soon.
