Is this a metaphor for a tyrannical government like we saw in Nazi Germany or an abusive relationship where you lose yourself? I’d be curious to see what the author says about this book

So this is a LOT more crude than Audrain’s previous work, especially around 19%. I’ve read reviews where other readers stopped there bc honestly it’s just gross that the author would go there..

So far, this is a slow burn that I likely wouldn’t classify this as a thriller. MC Amber is a textbook
sociopath. Lots of witnessing rich people activities. My guess is that this book could be much shorter but maybe the pacing is intentional.
