The Assassin and the Pirate Lord - I knew the broad strokes of this story from the main part of the Throne of Glass story. The details were well done and worth reading if you are into this series.

After the first couple of chapters listening to this audiobook, I was uninterested enough that I considered not finishing. It was only a couple of reviews from folks I generally agree with who liked the book that I kept going.

Ugh, within the first chapter there's already a reference to using being pretty to get out of a ticket from a police officer.

If I didn't know anything about this book and read this far as a preview and had to pay to keep reading, I don't think I would keep going. Since it's checked out from the library and I feel like there's all this hype around it, I'm willing to keep going assuming that the book must get better.
