A culture which like that of China predates our own and which has adapted to many disruptions over thousands of years is worth understanding deeply. Mark Tully and Gilly care about the people they meet and give us sympathetic glimpses of the complexity of life in modern India.

Very different to the Anime movie.
I loved the magical universe mixed with the everyday.
A book you could read at any age.
Some great characters such as wizard Howl and Calcifer the fire demon.
Go along for the fun and adventure.
