i really love cersei, and i also like how she's contrasted against brienne in this book. like, the two of them make difficult decisions to further their goals and to protect what they care for [cersei's position, her children, brienne's mission, her morals and those of hers around her] but the ways in which they're able to justify or in some cases, forgive themselves for those decisions are vastly different [good]

getting extremely emotional over the angels and little prophet girls

i have a bit of a kneejerk eye-roll reaction to a grizzled grumpy adult man begrudgingly taking care of a young, spunky girl, who in turn helps him overcome his trauma and start being decent to others. but i like oddball prophets!

i think the reason this book is such a struggle sometimes is because everyone frustrates me. in a good way, because robin hobb is a beast, but i am so agitated, constantly!! i miss fitz
