I actually have been trying to read this book for forever …. 61% in & still bored

This book has become very repetitive.. and the excessive use of song lyrics & detailed prayers feel like fluff… started off good, now I’m forcing my way to the end unfortunately

Now ima be real, I read one book by this author & hated it & didn’t plan to ever pick up another one of her titles but when I tell you she going crazy on this one!!!!! I’m only 3 chapters in & loving it! I love when an author can seamlessly incorporate God into their writing!! I can’t wait to see where this goes!

I really hope this all comes together and makes more sense.. Lola’s intro was that she was a prostitute that is broke af. Too broke to afford a decent meal but now she has money to be spending on all this stuff for her plan of revenge? Where did all this money come from? I can’t wait to be done with this book.

So you’re telling me her best friend believed the twin story when the tape got released but when she almost got raped and the text messages were from an unknown number, her best friend felt like she was lying? The rape situation would’ve made me believe she had a twin more than the sex tape.. again makes no sense..

Again things still don’t add up… why is the auntie lying? She claims to know nothing about a twin or their father when born the twin & dad said she knew about them… hopefully it’ll make more sense soon.. I’m still trying to figure out how the “twins” could share a common dislike for that song if they were separated at birth…

Logan’s perspective would make much more sense if her auntie would’ve confirmed that she had a twin… the fact that she literally has no confirmation of this twin but is so stuck on her existence & created a whole mindset for her just is unrealistic & makes it hard to read. The twin concept makes sense but talking about her like she’s a certified fact with no proof makes no sense

This just get cornier & cornier for me. It’s just so unrealistic & forced… really hoping for some type of twist that’ll make it worth while… if I wasn’t reading with a friend I would’ve been stopped this book

I’m sorry but so far this is corny… where did she magically get the twin theory from?? Like of course it crossed my mind but it’s unrealistic to be an immediate thought after a major argument & then to create an entire personality for a “twin” that may or may not exist..?

So far… I hope this book doesn’t continue being so repetitive… like I get it, I don’t need it to be said again in different words…

I’m so sad this book is coming to an end.. I’m enjoying this read too much for it to end

On rare, beautiful occasions I stumble across a book that challenges my vocabulary & reading level. A book that makes me slow down & make sure I understand. An author who’s writing style forcing my to use context clues & sometimes Google to discover the meaning of new words..this is one of those books & that alone makes me love it.

The way she’s blaming Curtis & acting so cold as if she was oblivious to what she signed up for is pissing me off. This is his first major slip up in y’all 10 year relationship & you know he’s in the streets so I get being mad but this is just over the top

Can’t lie, this book already starting out on fire. Got my attention immediately just with the complexity of the character. I’m excited for this read

This writing style is killing me.. but the storyline is still good. I have some speculations as to what I think happened to Haven but ima keep them to myself, don’t wanna spoil it

So far I’ve noticed the writing style is a little wordy.. redundant … and Sydney’s behavior doesn’t seem to sound like a 16 year old…I originally assumed she was like 10/11 until she mentioned driving.. this book has good reviews & im intrigued thus far

I can’t remember what page I’m on so I’ll go look in a moment… the cover on here is better than the cover on my physical copy so maybe the story will get better… so far it’s been nothing but rape scenes… which I’m not a triggered person, I can read about anything but that along with the book blurb makes me wonder if there’s gonna be more to the story or not.. should I continue to read? Idk
