Quite bored at this point. Mr Ghosh enjoys the saga of the century - ie, South Asia between the fall of Burma & the World Wars, but I feel too disconnected from the characters to be intrigued by the sociopolitical drama. Also, I don't know whether Mr Ghosh's narratives describing certain ways of life are accurate - they come across as a romanticized version of the past. I may not finish the remaining 268 pages.

For a book about literary women, it is poorly written. I'm getting bored.
