some of the character backstories are so sad

shit's finally getting real

again, i enjoy the dialogue. things are moving really quickly.

i kind of just read the dialogue lol. it's so fast. the characters are fun, even though i hardly know where i am at times.

chris is a fun character

it's taken this long for biyu to finally get interesting. i loved her choosing to stay with mr gok, but she wasn't really doing anything until now.

at least henry is back

mingzhu looks in the mirror or reflective surfaces a lot to tell us what she's wearing, which is a tired device. there's a lot of telling in this, and i find some sentences kind of repeat each other. francine was barely a character. :/

i'm curious to see if mingzhu finds henry again and what happens with sato and hiroshi.

there was a bit of telling in this chapter when i wanted a lot of tension! shit's still getting real.

the invasion is finally happening. i'm hoping the pace picks up now.
