Oh. My. God. This is brilliant. This book is dealing with SO many topics in such an exaggerated, satirical way, it’s SO GOOD. It’s super on the nose but it’s so ridiculous that it works.

Lowkey brilliant, but I shouldn’t make a judgment so early on lol

Aeugh I don't know if this works or not, I'm so conflicted.
I'll definitely need to cleanse my brain after this by reading some lit fics that are morally... Better.

Messed up my daily alchemised reading streak and now I don't really wanna go back to reading it.

Debating whether or not a quick palette cleanser will get me back in the mood to finish it or if it'll deter me from it for good. I am conflicted.

I need to sleep but I literally can't put this down

It's getting really hard to put down. And I think I accidentally got spoiled, gah.

I need a glossary and a summary of the lore of the world and its major events because damn, it's hard to fully keep up with otherwise.

Here we gooo!! Nervous and excited, first chapter was already very bleak and intriguing. I keep trying to guess who’s who in the HP universe.

Done reading the events of the first movie. This is so wildly different. It's awesome seeing where the writers of the play (and movie) took inspo from.

So scandalocious and funny! Obviously very different from the films, right from the get-go too, but I love it.

Omg completely discard what I said way earlier, this is so good.

Wait nevermind actually, I'm kind of enjoying this a lot now.

- I LOVE this cover, the art is so pleasing to my eyes.
- I unfortunately don’t think that cozy sci-fi (and by extension cozy fantasy) is for me :(. Plot is cute, characters are charming, but that’s not what I’m into when it comes to novels/novellas. But I would enjoy this a lot as a graphic novel!!

I'm so damn TIRED of the Stockholm syndrome trope with the young naive girl who's been lied to her whole life by the older, stricter, restrictive woman and still chooses to stay with her because that's all she's ever known. I don't care that this is the realistic response to such a situation, GET IT OUT OF MY FACE. These girls NEVER have any grit and it INFURIATES ME, GROW A PAIR JESUS CHRIST.

The only way I can somewhat enjoy horror is if we're following a small group of people who are accidentally funny and panic together while trying to figure out how to fight off whatever evil thing is lurking. The only examples of this that I have so far are the IT movies (especially the first one) and this book. This small group of adults vaguely reminds me of the IT gang and I love it.

I don't like horror, and this book is really confirming that, but I'm enjoying it because of the humor. It was a pleasant (and most welcome) surprise.

“I don’t really like novellas because I can’t bring myself to care about the characters and root for them in less than 250 pages.” Then this book happens. I am intrigued about the plot and I kind of care about the characters already, so you know the author’s good at this.

Ok expectations have been successfully shifted. This is going to be fun.
