I don’t know what it is about Taylor Jenkins Reid books being excellent on audio, but here we are. Julia Whelans is doing an excellent job as narrator again and whoever is playing Monique is great!

Another year long challenge, with a couple of chapters per week. A little more manageable than the Les Mis one!

Marcus’ story has finally picked up. I also cannot believe that we now get sex scenes for Phoebe and Marcus but barely had a hint at them for Matthew and Diana in the first books! Not like they’re the main characters or anything!

God I really hope Marcus’ whole story is a history lesson on the colonial intervention in the war of independence because I’m tired of history lessons in these damn books

Look... I don’t make the rules. 2020 has reminded me that life’s too short so if I want to read my fourth vampire story of the year than I damn well will.

Oh I am immensely enjoying this now. I love that I’ve been able to form theories about how the stories slot together - I’ve just had one confirmed in writing (lol) which I’m feeling quite smug about, although I only guessed a page or two early. I’m stopping now as I imagine this last quarter / fifth or so is going to be unputdownable!

Okay, after what felt like a slow start to me the plot is now 120% in action and I am so excited to see how everything ties together

Talia Hibbert, I have a lot of things to thank you for, but “a tightly leashed storm of a man” is one of the most excellent phrases I’ve read recently. God the prose in this book is pretty.
