I read this for a Pre-AP Lit class in high school and am now tasked with considering whether or not to teach it to my upcoming students for a 9th grade curriculum. I know I am not far in, but man oh man, for being a classic, this book has very little appeal to me. So far, it is majorly lacking in literary devices or any semblance of imagery, and I am having a hard time getting through each page.
