The wait list at the library was super long so I decided to purchase this book. I loved this author's previous works but this book is falling flat so far. I don't even want to finish it :(

I have read all of Karin's books (loved them) but am having a hard time with this new series.....it's brutally slow and I don't like any of the characters.....I want to quit but I've already invested this much time 🤔

Since this is due back to the library today I will have to take a pause. I fell behind in my reading 😁 and no renewals on reserves.

Don't think I'm going to bother finishing this. I loved the first book in the series, the second was ok, but this is just the first book all over again?

I think I'm done with this author. Perfect Strangers was pretty good but this book doesn't read well and I'm beyond bored .....the banter between the two characters just didn't do anything for me 👎 I'm throwing in the towel.

I have read three Kingsolver books(and LOVED them) but I'm only into Chapter 2 and I just can't connect with this story.

Eh .....I loved the Netflix series but just cannot get into reading this. It's well written but knowing what already happens is anticlimactic.

Not what I expected. I'm finding it difficult/not pleasurable to read because the author provides copious amounts of scientific explanations which can be boring at times.
