This has flashes of great storytelling in it, but ugh it is tedious as it lurches toward its inevitable end.

This is getting so much better now that the author is writing her own story rather than being stuck in Austen’s.

I’m sad I’m finding this so tedious

This is interesting, but the dialogue feels stilted - except when the author doesn’t try to be Jane Austen … and the Mary within this book is very different from how Austen wrote her. Which is good, because having Austen’s Mary as a FMC would be unreadable.

“We need these roots. We need a sense of belonging to something that is bigger than us, across both space and time, and we underestimate that need at our peril.”

This is a decent manual on how to stay present in the moment. Wish I could!

It’s getting a bit repetitive, but still good for a midnight feeding-the-baby read.

I really hope this keeps being this good.

Ugh the jokes are SO bad

This feels like a sappy self help book in disguise…

This book is so kooky but I’m enjoying it.

I hope this book continues to be as good as it’s been so far.

This book is absolutely fascinating and so well written.

Why is it that all modern heroines are so boring? Am I just old? I need a good tortured recusant catholic to spice things up.
