It’s really strange that DC had someone redraw Superman over Kirby’s art. It’s pretty distracting.

We're reading the "Empty Grave Retrofit Edition" which contains edits to remove racism present in the original. I think either Thompson was a bit burned out by this time, or I am. That said, the scene with Kabumpo running around as a burning pile of hay got some big laughs.
