There was a review that said this book was written out of hatred. But so far all I see is a book written from pain and love. Love for languages and possibilities and people, but a pain held very deeply in every story of someone who has had to sacrifice their identity to be able to participate in a society that would rather they disappear

I have been crying so much - in a good way. Healing tears as a certain scene embraced me with sad but loving warmth. Neka has definitely imbued this book with her own magic and every page is like listening to the stories, humor, and wisdom of an older sister
