Cute. Had these stories been written in another book, I would have not believed it. MKG is reciting them in his own autobiography. This book teaches you truth by reflection not exposition.

Most people will write the autobiography with a lens of judgement of their past. In this process, things will often be carefully pruned.

MKG manages to recite his childhood stories and his trip to England from the first person point of view. There is no judgment. It is for you to decide and relate.

The book is written in simple language, oddly relatable and forms the fundamental principle of saying the truth which adds to the authenticity of the book. I just hope this version has translated the original writings in Gujarati truthfully, keeping in line with the core principal that Gandhi tried to follow, I definitely admire his laying it out as it is approach rather than trying to spice it for the book.

Two part audible series with over 35 hours of listening time.

I have finished part 2 completely but more than half of part 1 remains.

It’s a decent book. Some sections could have been more nuanced. Some of it feels preachy.

The imagery was fun at first.
But half way through the book, and we are still going in circles with long descriptive sentences about stuff that hardly seems to add to the story.

And the plot is going no where. Like an endless rant from a forced vocabulary heavy language. Words seem important and big but they don’t combine to form any mesmerising sentences and passages. They just stand alone in their own ego.

Filled with imagery and sombre undertone

This book gets deeper and little later than the last checkpoint.
The vivid imageries are a constant.

Weaving around to set the story still. It creates vivid imagery but i hope it all has a payoff in the end

This book is a fascinating story of a man from humble backgrounds, who made a career in US after an arduous trip via ships and flight in late 1960s.
From there it takes on an exponential curve on what a person can achieve.

Highly motivational read, especially for admirers of technology.

Good advices mixed with forced advices

The story about anxious husband returning from abroad was not completely understood by me

The fact that this was originally written in Italian by a writer still learning Italian, makes it a meta read.
