How much more special special can Gideon the special special become? Oh I don't fucking know, maybe we reached the pinnacle with this one

I did not miss the yo mama jokes 🥲 please leave

"mind palace" Moffat you fucker

Oooooooooooooh second person narrative this is niiiiiiiiiice

Hate to break it to you lads but a "sophist" is something a bit more specific than another word for "wise" or "scholar". The lingo from classical era Greek schools survived to the age of the Emperor??????????? GET ME OUT

"...most of them still looked at her as though she were something that could only be killed with a stake through the heart at midnight" oh so there's vampires in this world now? Or is there vampire lore WITHOUT THE FUCKING VAMPIRES

"Nonagesimus's fascist rise to power,"
But she doesn't control the railways or the flow of commerce!!!!!!!! (F*ck you)

"Crux advanced like a glacier with an agenda" also how do you know what a glacier is? I admit I'm only in the start of the book and idk if they do have glaciers in this world but HOW could Gideon know what a glacier is???????? I shouldn't be this agitated this early, maybe I need to swear off modern fantasy.

"...arranged it and its stolen key considerately on her pillow, like a chocolate in a fancy hotel." How do you as an indentured servant in a cave of nuns know what they do in fancy hotels???? And what chocolate is???? Fuck me I'm having Bardugo champagne flashbacks all over again.
