I wanted to love this given the hype, but I’m just so bored. The narrative isn’t compelling at all and feels totally unoriginal, borrowing too heavily from established sci-fi tropes without adding anything unique or intriguing. Perhaps it’s the audiobook narration that’s too monotone, but the delivery completely drained the story of its urgency. Overall, it was a struggle to stay invested.
