I've just gotten to the part where Jon gets attacked in the pub. It looks like Michael might be the traitor. but it could be a red herring.

I just got to the part where Scarlet is attacking the castle with a bunch of other warlocks. John has just dropped his sword.

I think Leon may have betrayed the king, which would explain why they all went to the forest and three of them were sent away. I suspect the three most capable/likely to fight back.

We'll see if I'm correct.

We've just learned about Leon being imprisoned. Jon thinks that Leon is making a sacrifice using Ditaria (SP?) but I think that might be part of the reason he was put in the dungeon. It'll be interesting to see if I'm correct.

Currently on Chapter 12. I'm really enjoying the magic system. It is unlike any other magic system I have read about.

I'm really looking forward to how this novel is going to progress. This contract with the king seems dubious.
