Holy shit, I love this book.

This may be the first romantasy that I've enjoyed reading. I hope that saying so doesn't jinx it.

Good start. MC is likeable. Interesting magical things happening. Mysterious shit going down. But… just got to a part where it’s indicating some unnecessary and cutthroat trials for college kids is coming up. Please don’t enter FW territory. 😬

I love that this is set in a desert (what appears to be the Sonoran Desert specifically) rather than the typical European countryside.
