Theory:
The daughter did it.
She’s not as brain damaged and quiet as much as they are claiming. The husband seems to hate the wife to some degree and happens to be very emotionally connected to the daughter in the way he expresses.
Something tells me he and the daughter planned to get rid of the wife?

I love the emphasis on culture in this book:

The way you can dismiss a whole group of people merely b/c you were raised that way will always astonish me.

There’s also this part of me that realizes time and time again how much people follow blind hate that they don’t even understand. So many follow others points of views with no questions, because they simply don’t think for themselves to ever know the truth.

The way they are at war is heavily reflected in how those at war just say yes without taking the costs into deeper empathy and consideration . There’s so much “yessir” going on and not enough “no sir” and you can’t tell me that they aren’t aware of the cost, they’re just too afraid to oppose it and feel unsafe doing the right thing.

I love analyzing how much Altair loves fucking with Nova . He does it out of feeling like he has to, to some degree, but really I think it’s play for him . He wants the power he can’t have over his father and he doesn’t want anyone to see the way he feels towards nova, even though he would deny that flat out . He’s drawn to her with hate in his heart, but it’s how he can be close to her too.

Greyson’s intensity is the type that courses through you .. with so much power, that you feel so alive reading his dialogue👏

Daggermouth invokes a desire within me to fight for something greater than myself . Stories that do that to me automatically win my heart .

I’m obsessed with having everyone’s point of view as the story moves along. There’s no specific person to each chapter or main dominant character . They are all main characters with their own parts and each part is so integral .

The energy exuding from these pages as truths are revealed and walls start to drop.. it’s eerie , yet so thrilling to read . I love the intensity of this story .

I love when everything starts to add up and I’ve guessed it all 😋

I am in a constant push and pull with DNF’n this book and continuing . It’s so drawn out and I feel like it could have been shortened . At the same time, a part of me sees the point of it . You need to be in a complete mind fuck to hold the same emotional experience as the FMC who is in complete turmoil and confusion. The smut is cringe, but the story has so many layers, so here I am still holding on.

And again , because I fucking feel you Briana Ortiz 💔

I despise miscommunication tropes after this book . I don’t get triggered like this one triggered me . There should be a trigger warning for this moment !! AHHH !!

If I was playing a drinking game for the word coffee showing up, I would be shithoused 😂 I’ve seen more about coffee than the actual plot. I also keep comparing it to fourth wing, (was mentioned as inspo) because it comes way too close . I’m gonna keep trying, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to finish it😅
