I love this book! Especially McBane's description of life as a 17-18th century British soldier who fought in multiple campaigns, ran a whore house, killed his best friend in a dual (only to find out that the friend didn't actually die), had a baby in his backpack while in a battle, and wrote an amazing treatise on the use of the "small sword".
