With 23 books in the series, this definitely followed a similar formula. It has worked this long! The storyline is getting a bit stretched and predictable but still remains somewhat entertaining. We need to bring this series to a strong close before it peters out like a whimper.

Yuck! It read like a Lifetime movie. Everyone's tear ducts working overtime. You can skip this one.

This reads like a very obvious rendition of Hunger Games. You can skip if you have more compelling options.

I am 100 pages in and this book is a struggle. It reads very teeny bopper ish and the story line is a push I am struggling through. I am behind in my reading challenge so will push through but so far, this is a 2 star read at best.

I performed major eye rolling with this book. However, it was entertaining.

What a pleasant surprise this was! My daughter and I are reading these together and we are having a grand time! Talk about substance to keep the kids going and ofcourse great life lessons. Well written and entertaining. Cannot wait to start the second one.

Off to a good start though it seems a bit predictable but I am only 14 pages in. Keep you posted.

The book is a well written generational story steeped in culture, political volatility and racism. It calls to mind that we ALL have our own struggles. Hardship does not belong to any one person or race. It should be the thing to bring us together but it continues to set us apart. We could of shaved at least 150 pages but all in all it was okay.

Was a good read but nothing extra epecial

Very good read. Romance was a bit eye rolling but appropriate for the time I suppose.

It was a good effort. It ended with the promise of another book. I am not waiting on baited breath but Ill take a read when available.

This book was so terribly childish. It inspired many eye rolls and imaginings of doing something better with my time.

I really enjoyed this book and I was able to relate on many levels. Being an immigrant myself, it was refreshing to get a version where America was not the answer, the cure all, the balm. Great writing style and flow. Well done.
