I quite enjoyed the book the entire way through, the ending in particular I thought was executed well. I’ll be starting #2 shortly!

Ah yes, Dubai’s Wells. It’s time.

Oof, I’ve probably read that scene by the docks 15 times and I still wasn’t ready for it.

Today I made it through Sol’s story. Last time I read this book it was before I was a parent, and it still hit hard. This time it absolutely broke my heart. Definitely one of the best passages, if not the best, I’ve ever read. But dammit, it hurts.

I nearly gave up on this book about 20% through but I’m glad I continued. It felt like the Wax and Wayne Mistborn books at first, but not as good - but around the quarter make it really started setting itself apart. It’s been getting better each chapter, and while it does feel very “Sandersony” it’s become a unique entity at about the halfway point now.
