So far it's been confirmed by Bryce that humans are oppressed in this world. We then learn that there are no democratic means available to them by which to rectify their oppression.

So obviously some humans then resort to violent means. Yet it seems, rather than seeing this as a natural consequence of oppression, we're expected to automatically side with Danika, who is a defender of the status quo.
