This book is depressing. Lily is depressing. Definitely not what I had in mind and feeling as though the author really missed the mark with this one.

I feel honored to finally meet the old black woman who I guess plays a major part in this story.

How is Jacintha “particularly uncoordinated” when it comes to dancing and calling herself “the most pathetic dancer” when two flipping pages ago, literally two, she was just dancing it up with Lily? 🤔

I was so about to DNF this on page 10 😅 The writing was throwing me off and the narrator of the audiobook sounds so boring but the dialogue started to get interesting on page 11 so I’m sticking with it… for now.

At this point in my Stephen King journey I’m obsessed and beyond impressed with his writing and story telling 🤯

I love Bruce, he’s so funny 😂

Damn, I’m bored. I was hoping there would be smut to some level…

So far I hate how the characters are talking, it’s kind of cringe. Hopefully things get better because I want to like this.

This story is so good 🤩 The story and atmosphere are so dark and it’s sad, I found myself even tearing up a little bit at the 50% mark. Also, I noticed a similar storytelling style that S. A. Cosby has in this story that’s similar to my own, so I’m tickled by that commonality in us 😄 The way Cosby words Nathan’s thoughts whenever he wants to dismiss them is a similar style of writing I have 😆

This is why Carter wasn’t promoted because he’s always acting stupid.

Story is starting to take a little dip and dive for me, mainly because I do not give one care about Birdy and Carter’s relationship 🙄 Their character is also starting to annoy me, mostly just Birdy’s.

Nah, that’s wild they let her through without showing I.D. 🤔 I’m still stuck on that part.
