Entertaining

I wish I'd read this 4 years ago.

Very slow pace so far, having trouble getting pulled in, and I don’t greatly care about Tani at this point. I’m going to stop reading this and reconsider it at another time.

Reading the day’s chapter every morning is a lovely and thought provoking addition to my routine, and the daily stoic journal has excellent related prompts for my newly added additional habit of journaling. The two have greatly added to my morning routine, which anchors my day.

Enjoying it quite a bit so far. At first I didn't realize it was another book in the same world as S.T.Y.X. Humanhive, so everything just seemed way too familiar, but I'm less annoyed now :)

Slow going. I like that the main characters are older, but the characters being retired means they lack the impetus and drive that a lot of chars in other litrpgs have, they're busy smelling the roses. That's not a terrible thing, but it's also not very interesting. They were just given some crazy good gear on a simple quest, so there's an element of Mary Sue here, and I just don't care about the MC at all yet.

Fairly entertaining, but it hasn't really grabbed me. Leans too heavily on the geek culture references even for plot. I'd put this at 2-3 stars for me at this point, vs the 4+ of Ready Player One.

Just as good as I remembered. Taylor is a great character. Capable, but as flawed as the rest of us, which I can appreciate, and root for.

Meh, I'd rate this between 1.5 and 2, the character development is weaker than I generally prefer, and it heavily relies on typical fantasy tropes. I like a few of the characters, and the ascendant religion is interesting, which has helped carry me this far. Debating whether to finish it or not.

Many really interesting and amusing letters in this. Just finished Tim Schafer's interview letter that was in the form of a text adventure. <3
