I remember visiting BA in 2016 and visiting the plaza de mayo. I heard about the madres, but I didn’t know about the abuelas until I saw La historia oficial in college. The recency of these crimes against humanity, and the abuelas ongoing fight to find their missing grandchildren, some who weren’t even born when they were taken, has floored me. Held off crying until the epilogue and the Milei admin’s actions.
