I literally got this book out of my mailbox and immediately read through the first 77 pages. I'm super happy the book is finally here and I'm loving every bit.

Now to jump from a heartwrenching and brutal book (The Bluest Eye) to this fun time! Amped to see the movie and ready to dive into the book.

An excellent collection of essays. Gay mixes personal experience, pop culture, race and gender studies to convey her nuanced and complex opinions. She refuses to give easy answers to these difficult questions/issues that aren't going away any time soon. Definitely recommended.

I'm starting from the beginning again because it's been a while.
