I did read this awhile back but this time I am actually listening to the full cast audio version that 2000 AD and Penguin put out in 2022.

Read this probably close to 3 decades ago, and can say rereading it now made me realize I had forgotten a good portion of the book and recalled it alot differently over the years.

I thought I'd never read this one before, but after listening to a few of the stories and recalling them, I'm realizing must of read this back in 2004 or so. Still, a pretty good audio book.

I'm going have to get a physical copy to read, because this audio version is fucking horrible.

This Auduble version by the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society is superb. Highly recommend if you want to listen to the stories at work or on the road.

Hour of the Dragon is pretty fucking epic

The reference to Doomtree and Lazerbeak has got me rolling.

Pretty good recipes in here, cooked a good amount over the year, but no where as good as their "How To Braise Everything."

Little known fact, John Keel was actually an tulpa created by the mind of Hunter Thompson while in a adrenochrome bender. In a later reality Keel would become Thompson's spirit guide into the Dimethyltryptamine realm.

While the book has improved somewhat, it is still hampered at times by Swanson's unfounded speculations, hindsight, and over the top flowery eulogies of redundant thought. Always sad when a writer takes a story that is intriguing and interesting on its own and tries to top it by making it some bombastic melodramatic masterpiece of pompous deep think literature; yet epically fails.

Swanson: I have written a book on Lincoln's assassination.
Editor: Great. How long is it?
S: 120 pages.
E: hmm.... Too short, won't look historical accurate enough. What can you add?
S: You want me to pad it? Well I could go into more detail. Tell how people got our of carriages and stuff. Add back redundant sentences I cut.
E: ...
S: Also biographies on everyone
E(raised eyebrows): Everyone?
S: Everyone

This book is so dry it makes me thirsty.  While deeply informing, well researched, documented and annotated, at times I find myself yawing at subject matter that should be completely absorbing and mind blowing.

Or maybe its just the fact that the church and government being involved in protecting and hiring Nazi war criminals just doesn't surprise me.

Got to take a break on this on this one. While some of the stories are great, others are sort of meh. Don't recommend reading these back to back either, start to ware on you.

I now give the ivy growing up the side of my house suspicious looks when I walk by, questioning its true motives for growing along my bedroom window.

So if Punk Rock Vomit Eater Vine-Monster is eating their clothes, why hadn't it already consumed the leftover abandoned mine studying archaeologist's clothes?

My initial feelings of the cookie cutter, cardboard cut out, lame tourists version of the Scooby Doo gang, that they are and should die, still stands for the most part; but after this latest reveal I can't help but root for them a bit to make it out of this hopeless situation they flung themselves into. Nature sucks and always listen to the locals kids.

I had read Brubaker's run on Captain America back in the day when it was coming out in floppies, and the LCS had this trade in sale, so I figure it was more than past due for a reread, see if it still holds up.

This book is a very high 2, bouncing near a 3 really. Still going to check out more of English's work, this didnt seem like his strongest coherent piece. A bookend to his Irish mob series, the rambling redundancy in the book need cutting. Seemed as if he couldn't keep his focus, basically was a critique of the corruption and injustice perpetrated by the FBI and Justice department in their overzealous crusades.

If only an editor had been around to cut out the rambling redundancy.

While I really dig the art and possibilities here, I still find the story itself pretty underwhelming, and couldn't care less about any of the characters.

Pt. 2 Chapter 2 The Owner, Shall now be titled HolyFuckingRedundancy Batman.

I don't agree with everything Stirner says, but I do find myself agreeing with a good bit. While I wish it was a little bit less redundant at times, I must say I enjoy the way nothing is sacred to him. I also find myself reading some points more as satire than others, but this being my first read of any of Stirner's work, I wonder if that's me just misreading.

I was picking up and enjoying this mini when it was coming out, but for some reason never finished the last two issues. Just dug all six issues out of a box, as today seemed like as good as any to give it a reread and see if it ends as good as it starts.

So far the first six issues of this have been pretty amazing.

So far this book is an excellent well documented case study of American and C.I.A interfernce and foreign policy since the end of WW2.

The Grant Morrison interview is the best part of this book.
