A very well written sequel to 20k leagues. Not as fantastic as the first but still retained some of the sci-fi margic unique to Verne.

A very verbose book and although I agree with some the authors ideas on the merits of a free market the scenario she paints is extreme and thus the characters in this book are extreme ranging from flawless heros to epically incompetent villains. Overall the plot seemed reasonable but it could have been condensed to half as many pages. I'm relieved to be done with it.

The protagonist's very cynical personality and the fairly solid plot makes for some pretty good reading.

it gives a good historical narrative of the pre-83 atmosphere and gives a detailed account of all major military events from both sides.

interesting description on stimuli from coca leaf chewing. Dr Maturin appears to be quite the junkie :P

Reaching the grand finale of the series. Probabaly the best part of this book (as opposed to the 2nd one in the series) is the focus on Smiley and his tradecraft.

the Indochina parts arent too fascinating and Jerry mannersim give me the cringes. But nonetheless the plot is reaching its climax.

smiley/guilliam are by far the most entertaining charcters in this book.

The logic of the arguments get even better as you proceed into the New Testament.

Taking a while to set the scene and I'm not too keen on the secondary characters. Looking forward to the actual spooks instead of the 2nd hand narrative.

A thorough and honestvexamination and critique of the old testament. the observation of the contradictions are quite impressive.
