Now that I've decided to put Bletchley Park aside, I'll reach for this book again ... no good trying to read two books simultaneously, not to mention school pick-ups and drop-offs, work, laundry, dishes and who knows what.

I was under the impression that this might be "exciting" ... :(

As much as "poetry is for all", I can see that some of the poems were definitely chosen for teenagers.

Quite amusing to see the author refer to Julia Cameron and James Pennebaker, both of whose books I've read extensively.

Some of the poems Collins has selected struck a chord with me, others are clearly for teenagers.

There's an important quote on page 190 I'll be including in my "review".

Yep, I have plenty of male friends who suffer from migraines too - at the mo it reads as if no-one knows ... mmmm

... lent it to a friend ... waiting to get it back ;)

Something important on page 121: "Your migraine disability is real, and it has a real effect on you and your loved ones."
Only someone who's been there will understand.

... perhaps a little dry for current tastes, but I'm DETERMINED to finish it at some point!

On the other hand, I've read another (and finished it!) while battling my way through this one.

... although my thoughts keep returning to page 135, "Among Many Tasks" (Tadeusz Rozewicz) ... I've forgotten that / it's also necessary / to be dying ... and on page 181 I discovered the Czech, Miroslav Holub. He's a qualified microbiologist/virologist and you can see it in his poetry! "The Fly" (pp. 182) opened up a new world for me! Imagine what flies actually see/experience in their lives! Admiring Senghor's work
