I haven't been loving this book, but I had to read this quote three times.

I can see why this won a pulitzer. "Pain rolled off him like rain from a slate roof." What a mighty fine simile

This book makes me miss the friends I made at school who don't know Jesus. Gosh, I wish apologetics could save people!! But these arguments for God remind me to pray for my skeptical and agnostic friends -- that they would see how this whole world fits together for the glory of the Lord & that He would reveal Himself to them.

This is slow going and repetitive. But I've told myself I can't read anything else till it's over with. Maybe it'll get better?

I think I can smell a love triangle coming ... troubling ... the melodrama is a little much, but it's YA so it's forgiven. Love how short the chapters are; very ready to find answers. Also for some reason I thought this was fantasy? Keep expecting a troll or fairy to pop out, but I'm enjoying the grown up Benedict Society vibes nonetheless.

Needed a fluffy read to distract myself from the sound of my own crying as I limp to finals week 🤭☠️😇🔪

Only two and a half weeks left in the semester and yet, if you'd believe it, this is only the third to last novel on my English syllabus ...
