Didn't finish.

I wanted to love this book, really I did. I love Paul Auster, and got this one autographed on his book tour. But ... I just couldn't finish it. I hated that the histories of the characters I came to love would just change without notice. Maybe if it were a shorter book, I'd be fine with that, but this is just too much of a time investment for what became an increasingly dissatisfying read.

Slightly annoyed by how poorly written the historical fiction sections purported to be by a poor historical fiction writer. But I suppose that means they are well written ... ?
