I bought the physical book but idk if this is the type of book you finish. I do like it. It’s just ramblings but it’s a vibe

This series has been a wild ride. I sometimes find myself tuning out while listening to the audiobook, but it never fails to pull me back in. Do I recommend it? Yes. And I don’t think you need to know all the philosophers it mentions or Homer’s works or French Latin and German. I would, however, recommend patience and an interest in global politics.

Trying to get back to reading physical books and so far this doesn’t disappoint! Good pacing, interesting premise, and smarter than your usual YA novel.

The end of the last book quickly turned from utopian world building to eyes wide shut style conspiracy. But now it’s all confusing. Sci-fi often has world-scale politics, but these are a bit too multifaceted for comfort. Everything keeps bumping into 18 century philosophy, which was fun at first but getting a little annoying. At some point, it stopped being fun trying to figure out everyone’s motives.

I thought I finished the book and was very confused because it was mostly just world-building. Turns out the audiobook I was listening to is split into two parts so I’m only halfway through! I’m kind of relieved. Hope things will happen soon! It did set up for some action.

A planet that speaks in poetry, diplomatic intrigue, and characters in their 20s that actually sound their age! A nonstop adventure that is both fun and genuinely interesting.

This book will probably be terrifying to people outside emergency management, but for me, it’s the most validating thing I’ve ever read. I love its no nonsense style and expertly crafted disaster scenarios. No, we aren’t prepared and yes, it is terrifying.

I asked ChatGPT to give me recommendations of a book that is deep like The Dispossessed and has a European setting and boy did its top recommendation deliver! I am so deeply in love with Kundera’s writing style. It’s such a treat to get back to this after work or on break.
