Ugh! The male narrator’s French accent and acting skills are just awful!

Colonel Fitzwilliam just disappointed me. He crossed a line & it was icky.

Chapter 25: “THREE YEARS LATER.”
Whaaaat? Nonononono!

Surprisingly, I’m not hating this at all. Second try, audio style.

“A spirit tethered to life by its desire to read.”
I feel this is a totally acceptable reason for a spirit avoid moving on!!!

I love stories where death is personified! Here, we have a party where the guests have been poisoned by the wine. A proud mother has been showing off her beautiful new baby, and she’s passed the poison to her babe through her breast milk.

All others are dead, but when Death touches this baby, he sees something shocking. Instead of seeing her past, he sees her future! He’s fascinated and will definitely be back

This book has already made me smile and laugh! I love the relationship between sisters. So funny.

I’m loving this story! I have a feeling it might be cheesy, but I don’t even care!

I’m into this angst fest against my will!

I’m doing an audiobook reread. This is one of my favorite Amy D’Orazio books. A lot of her other books, while well written, contain a lot of angst and sorrow. They’re emotionally taxing to read (I guess that a good author can evoke emotions in their readers). Sometimes I need something lighter with Darcy & Elizabeth butterflies while they gradually fall in love.

I’m liking Alessandro quite a bit more in this story. I like how he apologizes to Catalina.

What’s with all of Alessandro’s fiancées? He’s kind of young to have been engaged 3 times.

So far, I’m liking Catalina as a MC. She’s relatable, a bit snarky, and is different enough not to sound like Nevada 2.0. I’m not really liking Alessandro. He only jokes around & comes off as a cheesy action hero. I don’t get Catalina’s secret attraction to him. I’m hoping he’s putting on a front and there are depths to his personality.

Oh my goodness! I forgot how funny this book is.

I’m on chapter one. I forgot what a whiny, annoying, selfish character Rinda Charles is. I absolutely HATE her.

I’m looking for a book in which Mr Darcy discovers a bunch of drawings of himself done by Elizabeth. I can’t remember the title or author. It’s not Sketching Mr Darcy. Please help if you recognize this book.

I’m 3/4 through this long book, and I’m debating about pushing myself to finish. Darcy is a mega a-hole and set his sights on Jane for much of the story. He behaves despicably. Bingley kicks him out & won’t answer any of Darcy’s letters seeking a reconciliation. Yes, he was tricked into marrying a psychotic whore who died trying to deliver another man’s child. Dude, you’re free now. Life’s too short!

I’m feeling suspish. Wentworth & Anne have declared feelings & she accepted his proposal. Not even at the halfway point yet. And this:

“At odd moments, a vague form of anxiety intruded upon her, warning that an unseen event would shatter their gaity.”

Dun-dun- DUNNNNN!

I just read about the wedding night, and have very uncomfortable feelings. Elizabeth asked if they could wait to consummate until they knew each other better & Darcy says NO, it’s important to prove that they did not actually do the things all the gossips are accusing them of. Sheets, blood, and servant talk. Darcy is aware that Elizabeth hasn’t been told what to expect & is scared. He just plows ahead. Yuck!

So far, Darcy is a real crap-bag. He shows zero appreciation for Elizabeth saving his life. He just vomited on Caroline, and has previously barfed on Elizabeth. This Darcy is not a winner!

I do enjoy George Wickham portrayed as a cunning manipulator rather than an amateur, hot headed villain. I find myself a bit bloodthirsty and hope the author kills him rather than shipping him off to a penal colony or America.

My dream come true: a dusty hidden room behind the library shelves! Alas, there was no skeleton, which would’ve been the cherry on top.

Drama alert!

This has a nice, gothic feel. I’m enjoying it quite a lot more than I had expected.

“Honestly,” Finn says, “my stalker game is so much stronger than yours.”

I dearly hope the author gives him his own book or novella.

I love it when Quan, Michael, and Kai have their conversations about women. I loved it in The Bride Test too. Funny that Michael says, “I learned about that in Cosmo.”
