Obviously brilliantly written and absolutely terrifying but the misogyny is just annoying. I get that it was written by a man in the 40s but this is why I hate reading books by men. Like Julia is given no actual character and at some points I was like oh it’s just Winston that’s misogynistic but nope it’s Orwell

I liked the concept but everything felt too easy. I get it’s ya but at least try and have some substance.
