I am listening to this book read by the author. I appreciate accurate pronunciation of the character names and locales. I adore Verghese’s writing. Cutting for Stone is my all-time favorite read. I love this for very different reasons. I know it is about the time in my life. I bn am 59. More than half of my life has passed and I’m thinking more of what mark I have made, the meaning of family, and secrets.

A great and wild concept. Not my usual type of read but I liked it. It made me question my own perception of what matters. Maybe it’s nothing.

And I have to finish it by tomorrow for book club! How is it? So far, meh. I’m listening to it and the reader has this back of mouth speech impediment that’s annoying.

Whenever there’s stored energy in an object, like a magnet, it will be pushed in that direction. Bringing magnets closer together decreases the stored energy in the magnetic field and they are forced together,” he says, pushing the magnets together. “That’s attraction.”

Sweet, but meh.
