I can’t wait for this book to end.

Unsure how much I like this style of narration. Like she is looking back on her life from the afterlife. It’s really weird and takes me out of the story.

Whoa…that took a dark turn.

I’m pretty sure they said Athena had an heir. The Goddess who is famously know for her vow of chastity? I can’t decode which idea I hate more: 1) the author ignored well know mythology to do her own thing or 2) the author sort of kind of knew about Greek mythology but didn’t check anything before writing. However, I find myself needing to know what happens next in the story.

For being YA, this is a really messed up book. 16 year old girl in cult-like atmosphere having to rely on the pride for literally everything. Being guilted to elope. Forced child marriages. threats of rape. Not really enjoying these themes through the lens of an unsure 16-year-old girl who is most certainly not mature enough to deal with any of it.

I’m very confused why Greek gods are speaking Latin and having gladiator battles in the Colosseum. And the beginning child abuse was hard to listen to. And having an alternative mythos about titans and the two different types of houses, while some important gods are missing. I’m just very confused. Or maybe a snob for the classic Greek myths.

If she’s 16 for the whole book, I’m going to have a qualm.

What is happening in this dumb book?

This book is also tedious. It’s like the Author had a specific word count she needed to reach so drag out everything with as many words as possible.

I’m finding this first half of the book tedious.
