I do hope it gets better. Right now, it feels almost like a generic Stephanie Plum, but less interesting.

Katherine can't see any of these characters. Now we must wonder. On the one hand, Father Cyrus and Edie are aware of them and have seen some of them, so it's not all in Margaret's head. But the more we learn about Hal, the worse he sounds. She once left a cart full of groceries in the aisle becaue the line at the checkout was long, and Hal didn't want her gone that long. She texts him when she gets there, leaves,..?

Inane. May not finish. What a surprise, since others love it, and I've enjoyed his work mightily before. Go know.

Been wanting to read this forever, and damn, can she write.

More informational and less funny, which for some will be great, but not as much for me.

I expected spooky, but I had no idea it would be funny...not to mention chilling, as our protagonist reveals, one teeny speck at a time, that her now-missing husband was an abuser.

So droll. This is even funnier than his last!

This is my insomnia book. Makes me almost wish I had insomnia more frequently.

Definitely has my attention. I want to know about that smell.

Love this thing; the juxtaposition of the paranormal and the everyday occurrences just slays me. But I actually am starting to wonder about Hal.

I thought I'd delight in seeing Custer get his, but oh, it's so gory and tragic. Just finished The Free and the Dead before it--Seminole Wars--and have to take a little break. Will return, as it's well done.

Read the first 3, all excellent, then got caught up in something else. Will return soon.

In print, this might have been too slow for me, but the audio readers really push it over the top. No idea about accuracy.

So brief, so well written! It ends at 80%, the rest being endnotes. I'm delighted to have the audio, which I found at the library.

I am so in love with this strange little book! The word smithery, Mara and Luke, the hidden gold, and oh my god, the scene between Saul and Abram at the duplicate house was so tense and chilling that I actually considered peeking ahead, because I couldn't stand it! I held off, and it was resolved a couple pages later. This is one of those books that takes me through every possible emotion.
