Why are dystopian novels ALWAYS in America? (Other than Orwell’s 1984, which takes place in London and implies that the whole world has fallen into similar war-based big brother-esque societies)
Atwood specifically mentions that the conditions of this world are specific to America, and that other countries are better off, with all the rich business people leaving America long ago.

These books about magical cafes/coffee shops/etc ALWAYS have identical plots, to the point where I could probably write one:

A character (usually a young woman) is upset/unhappy with her life, generally after the death of a family member, a breakup, or similar large life event gone wrong. Character then happens to stumble upon a store that wasn’t there last time they looked-magical! Also always set in Japan

Not a fan of the plot line with the incestous cousins…

This currently reads like it belongs on wattpad…

An easy read and mostly ok, but some sentences just BOTHER me??
