Richard Osman really leans into the cozy in the cozy murder mystery genre and I am considering making my own lemon drizzle now.

The longwinded narrative and philosophising is such a mainstay of this book over others, almost like the reader is immortal like the God Emperor is...

If I had an attention span it wouldn't have taken me 4 tries to get so far- it is excellent in the typical Herbert manner at Chapter 12.

Thinking of my proxy home as a company is sooo disorienting! This is a work of journalistic genius so far and seldom have I read tech journalism that isn't at least mildly sycophantic.

I thought I'd DNFed it until 30% in because it was depressing as hell re: pandy times but I'm so glad I returned to it because it's gotten better and more engaging since. I might stay up tonight to see this book through because I feel like I need to.

It's far more insightful about the modern leftist political and media landscapes than I was expecting going in and profoundly compelling in ways that a lot of personal essay/analyses books can't quite nail. I'm so locked in.

I clearly read a different novella by Ali Hazelwood with a very similar name before which I assumed was this one? Anyway this book is so confusing because all Ali has clearly learned to take criticism from The Love Hypothesis, except she's refused to be kinkshamed for all the size kink ridiculousness (this time the FMC fits into the space the MMC's neck creates) and all the weird writing with the science/gen. nerdery
